I often get inquiries that ask what amenities the town of Happy Jack has to offer. The reality is that Happy Jack is not really a town, it is more accurately a ZIP code - 86024.

While we do have the store, gas station, cafe, post office and garage located at Long Valley, the nearest "towns" are Winslow to the North and Pine/Strawberry to the South on Hwy 87.

When we speak of Happy Jack we are mainly talking about an area from the store at Long Valley North about 15 miles to Mogollon Ranch and East on FH3/Lake Mary road to FS 211 Road. While it may sound confusing, it really is simple. If you would like a general map of the area, please let me know and I can email one to you.

 Happy Jack is a number of developments located in the beautiful Coconino National Forest. Superb fishing and hunting opportunities abound. Our resident Elk herd is fantastic and one of my favorite hobbies is cruising the Long Lake road just before dark and watching the Elk heading for water and feed. They are really incredible animals.

 We have areas with strict HOA's and areas that are more eclectic and independent. Lots are 3/4 of an acre or more depending on the development. Very tall Ponderosa pines are common. If you are looking for a retreat from the valley heat or the daily grind of city life, you are looking for Happy Jack.
